Sustainable Kingston: Partnership and Engagement
In this presentation, Julia Stroud, the Executive Director, will speak about current Sustainable Kingston initiatives, with a focus on the new Kingston Climate Partnership. The Kingston Climate Partnership mobilizes cross-sectoral efforts in the City of Kingston accelerate community, private, and public action that reduces GHG emissions and builds community resilience in the face of changing climate.
Sustainable Kingston's mission is to enhance the livability and resiliency of Kingston. We do this by sharing knowledge and providing programs that drive community action. As a Kingston-based non-profit organization, we also aim to raise awareness and establish strategic partnerships to inspire community engagement and support the transition towards environmental, social, cultural, and economic stability.
JULIA STROUD
Julia Stroud is the Executive Director of Sustainable Kingston. This is a recent, but delightful pivot into a field more closely aligned with her values. She comes from a music, theatre, and university administration background, which includes a Master of Music (Performance) degree and Master of Public Administration degree. The music background appears unrelated on the surface, but has proven highly relevant. Both music performance and the work of Sustainable Kingston involve listening carefully and carefully pulling on threads of similarity to weave into joint projects that will amplify our individual voices.
